PANELIST BIOS

Marcus Pape
Marcus is a dynamic and innovative creative director with over 12 years creating engaging interactive user experiences.

Entering the industry as a motion graphics designer and Flash developer with Publicis, Marcus created both immersive CD-Rom and online solutions for clients such as Hewlett-Packard, Micron and Idaho Forest Service. His work authoring high-interactive DVD menu systems for Boise startup Studio Reload earned him a DVD Association Excellence Award. When the opportunity came to take over creative responsibilities for a promising product marketing and promotion company, Marcus took his talents to the Seattle area and Core Innovation. During his tenure as Creative Director Marcus led the successful brand expansion of 48+ products across five countries while building a multimillion-dollar ecommerce destination for marketing/sales representatives.

Looking to re-engage with more digital-based initiatives, Marcus left Core to take over interactive creative efforts for Coinstar, Inc., where he leveraged his experience with engaging UI/UX design to develop a new kiosk interface and launch several web initiatives including a new corporate website. In Marcus' most recent position as Creative Director for Amazon's Display Advertising and User Experience group he leads strategic consumer electronics initiatives for key clients such as AT&T, T-Mobile, Samsung, Disney, Microsoft, Sony and Philips. Ryan Rosenberg
Ryan comes from South Africa, the product of two amazing people, an architect and artist, who challenged him to be innovative and helped to form his strong sense of design thinking.

Graduating at the top of his class in Industrial Design, he has spent several years developing his skills as a leader in IDSA, in technical teams at Boeing, in architectural environments at Koryn Rolstad Studios, and in the innovation and entrepreneurial processes at MindPlay/Bally Gaming and eMagin Corp., before settling into his current role at Wizards of the Coast/Hasbro, as the Director of Creative Services.

There he is involved in leading design teams, focusing on developing an understanding of the social interfaces between people, objects and technology. “The gaming world provides a compelling and fun environment in which to research and practice the art of design.”

Diane Christensen
A member of the Costco Corporate Marketing team since 2010, Diane works with a team of extremely qualified graphic designers. Her strength lies in brand system design and strategy, advertising, corporate identity, event and promotional graphics, direct marketing and logo design.

Through her past experience working as Senior Designer/Art Director with such companies as Ogilvy & Mather, Cole and Weber, Hadley Green Creates (Now Green Rubino) and HL2, her creative contributions have enhanced the look and direction of the agencies and clients she's worked with — along the way, creating  and providing successful financial results for all involved.

Her work has earned several awards including recognition from the Direct Marketing Creative Guild Pioneer, a Caples, an Echo, plus awards from Advertising International, HOW Magazine, American Corporate Identity, The Society of Technical Communications, Creativity 22, Print and the Seattle Show.

Kevin Schroer
Kevin is currently the Creative Director at the Seattle Art Museum. Prior to SAM, he was the Creative Director for REI, where he lead the development of all customer-facing content across all mediums, supporting REI in it's growth to become a two billion dollar retailer. His earlier career was spent working at agencies on both coasts and in between, with the full range of projects for both business and consumer audiences.

INitiative: INsights to help INhouse design teams thrive

More than half of all professional designers in the United States are employed full-time by corporations and organizations. To address the unique opportunities and challenges faced by this in-house community, AIGA has partnered with The Creative Group (TCG) to form “INitiative,” a program to help in-house designers make a greater impact at their companies, evolve professionally and connect with a broader network of peers. INitiative will deliver inspiration, advice and insights via online channels and in-person events. Learn more at aiga.org.
