What about joining the board?
Joining the board has many rewards. Firstly and most simply, if you can commit the time required of board members, it can be great fun. You interact and work with gifted and accomplished professionals, and meet some of the most talented people in the design field. In addition, by providing a conduit for your enthusiasm and expertise, board membership offers you unique opportunities for personal and professional growth, and several means to make a palpable impact on people in the design community and the public at large. Working with limited resources, the AIGA Seattle Board of Directors accomplishes a remarkable amount. Please contact AIGA Seattle board President Marty Hall for more information.

Why should I join AIGA? What's in it for me?
Well, let's start with the tangible benefits. There are the regional and national networking opportunities. You'll have access to the contact information for all 15,000 AIGA members. There are the publications like 365: AIGA Year in Design and Trace: AIGA Journal of Design which keep you up to date on issues in the design community and highlight talent and innovation. There is the access to the Design Jobs, and all sorts of discounts. Then there is the intangible perk of knowing that you are supporting something larger than yourself, an organization dedicated to demonstrating design's value to the public and to nurturing its professional and creative growth. Not convinced? Contact AIGA Seattle Membership Director Wendy Quesinberry at [email protected] for more information or see what the national website has to say about it.

The incredible publications. All of this costs money! Check out the flash movie "Your $275 investment" to see exactly how your membership dues are spent.
