About AIGA / The Seattle Chapter Board

Laura Sherman
Membership Director

Laura recently relocated to Seattle from San Francisco where she was an active AIGA volunteer. As a new Seattle board member, she hopes to bring her fresh ideas and energy to the Seattle chapter, and is enthusiastic about growing its membership.

Laura's love of design was bred in the musty corners of her high school Yearbook staff-room when she first experienced the odd joys of typesetting, page layout, copywriting, and photography. She went on to earn her BFA in Visual Communications (along with a BA in French) from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona.

She has been working in the industry for 10 years, specializing in branding and identity, print collateral, advertising, and brand development on the web. She has won awards with the Art Directors' Club and has had the opportunity to work with many great clients such as Wells Fargo, Oracle, Charles Schwab, AAA, Colorado Ballet, and Stanford Hospital.

Her love of travel keeps her going. Having lived in France and Switzerland, moving onto Boulder, Colorado, and then to San Francisco, Laura brings an international sensitivity to her design, and thrives in an engaging, forward-thinking, and cosmopolitan culture.
