Krystal Lechner
Secretary
In the past 4 years, Krystal has approached AIGA Seattle with so much enthusiasm and passion that she's literally attended almost every event. She began volunteering 2 years ago for any event that needed help. Last year, an opportunity rose to volunteer on a bigger scale. She became in charge of 22 vendors as Vendor Liaison for Design-O-Rama 2004. After 3 months of solid work updating the database and working closely with the vendors, the tradeshow turned out to be a success. Former AIGA Seattle president, Brooke MacKay, dubbed her official title as, "Miss Super-Volunteer." Ever since Design-O-Rama, "Miss Super-Volunteer" has volunteered on the Membership Committee, the Design Camp Activities committee (teaching Chinese calligraphy in a full geisha costume) and the Decorations Committee of the 2005 Valentine's Ball. She can be seen at events welcoming people with a warm smile and providing help wherever it's needed.
Educational credits include: BFA in Design from Pacific Lutheran University in 2003. Continuing education at School of Visual Concepts since 2003.
Past volunteer credits include: Served as a youth board member for Camp Fire USA Puget Sound Council in 1998 and attended the 1998 National Conference in Kansas City. Also earned Camp Fire's WoHeLo Award in 1998 (equivalent to the Boy Scout's Eagle Scout Award).
Krystal's dependability and experience has proven to be an invaluable asset to the board. She looks forward to being on the board to continue to give back to the Seattle design community as much as it has given her.
