Green Salon 2 /
Green Salon 2
In October AIGA Seattle launched the Green Salon series as an open forum for both AIGA members and other designers, and invited participants to list a menu of topics for future roundtables about sustainability: a pair for each upcoming discussion. In this second roundtable of the series, we will focus on two of those topics:
- Sustainable Design Makes Business Sense: As a designer, how do you introduce sustainable design practices to your clients? What are some methods you use to explain how acting sustainably might effect their brand presence and their bottom line? What are some examples of things that have worked or not worked with your clients?
- Design Thinking Applied to Sustainable Design: In order for designers to make an impact on climate change we must first understand how we can effect it. Where in the process chain do we fit, and how can we use design to influence decisions that produce better results? How we do we fully investigate the impact of our choices? Are digital media always the best use of resources? And if you’re a print designer who opts for digital solutions, are you designing yourself out of a job?
Please join us and participate in an informative and lively discussion. Bring your knowledge and experience to add depth to our exploration of sustainable design.
Free parking in the upper lot.
